  • Mojo Roots: Prakriti’s Kiss

    July 6, 2010

Prakriti's Kiss, a CD by Mojo Roots

The Mojo Roots trio formulates an enticing aura of exuberance and boogie down jams by coagulating Blues, R & B, Reggae, Ska, Second Line, Funk, Soul and International Rhythms.

This dynamic trio were created to provide a musical alternative to the home grown, agriculturally provocative, party-down atmosphere of the Minnesota State Fair. By blending the familiar musical genres of each player, Mojo Roots coagulated a simmering concoction of R & B, Blues, Reggae, Ska, Second Line, & International Rhythms/Grooves. The result was an overwhelming Audience responce that culminated into the groups 1st CD project, “Prakritis Kiss”. The song list contains familar Cover Tunes, however the treatment is always Mojo Roots or as we like to say; MOJOFIED!

Markiss-Muddy Waters, Al Green, Sil Johnson, the Spinners, Buddy Miles, Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths.

Art Haynes-Marvin Gaye, B.B.King, Jessie Johnson, Alexandar O’Neill, & Bobby Blue Bland.

mick laBriola-Ed Volker (the Radiators), Simon Shaheen, Seer Azizi, Jacco Muller, Pansequito, Sakher Hattar, Tim Sparks, Pop Wagner & the Maroons. Mick brings his background of Flamenco, Arabic, Sepharadic, Bulgarian, Caribbean and Central African Rhythms to the table along with Nyabingi, Rock Steady and Dance Hall riddems.
